Description:
Set in the Central Asian steppes today, this is a love story about Temür, a 30-year-old Kazakh who returns to his ancestral village in the Kyrgyz Mountains to start over. He finds himself an outsider in the close-knit community of conservative Muslims, women, and children. Hope arrives in the form of Amira, a young woman longing for her husband, a missing Mujahideen. As Temür observes the lives of the villagers and offers his help, he draws closer to Amira and her brother-in-law, Taib. Facing a hopeless situation, the couple decides to leave the village together in pursuit of a future where their dreams can be realized. By Mira Tanna-Händel.
