Description:
This straightforward story, inspired by a post-World War I news mystery, centers on a disheveled man arrested in Turin for stealing flower pots from a cemetery. Following a harsh interrogation, his amnesia leads to his placement in a mental asylum. A woman claiming to be his wife appears after seeing his photograph, identifying him as Professor Canella. His release is swift, but another family challenges her claim, alleging he's an imposter. The case returns to court, and the "professor" is jailed. Throughout the legal proceedings, various clues emerge, casting doubt on whether the man has been correctly identified and by whom.
