Description:
This intense drama chronicles the gradual disintegration of a young woman as her family unravels. Maria, quiet and devoted, bears the weight of her family’s troubles. Balancing work, household duties, and studies, she finds no support from her parents. Her father, blind and prone to violence when intoxicated, and her mother, trapped in his abusive behavior, are both deeply unhappy. Following a severe assault, Maria's brothers confront their father and leave home. Left to hold the family together, Maria faces mounting pressures, compounded by a self-defense act against an attempted rape and the subsequent suicide of her mother.
