Drawing from the celebrated memoir by guitarist Andy Summers, *Can’t Stand Losing You: Surviving The Police* recounts Summers' path from the psychedelic music scene of the 1960s, where he played with The Animals, to his unexpected meetings with drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Sting. These encounters sparked the creation of The Police, a prominent new wave band. Summers documents the band’s remarkable ascent and their widely reported breakup during the early 1980s, using his own photographs. Combining archival footage, Summers' images, and firsthand perspectives, the film connects past and present as the band members prepare for their first reunion in over two decades, embarking on a global tour in 2007.
