Description:
Director José Luis Garci examines filmmakers and screenwriters, depicting their intense focus on the creative process as isolating. As José and Federico collaborate on a screenplay, their relationships with family – José's daughters and Federico's wife – fade into the background. José’s daughters leave home, and Federico’s wife enters a convent, while Federico remains oblivious. Even a producer, deeply grieving his son's death, instinctively returns to the film project after the funeral. The film begins with tributes to great directors and unfolds as an exploration of the dedication and sacrifices inherent in filmmaking, without offering any judgment.
