Description:
Inspired by Pirandello's 'Il fu Mattia Pascal', this story explores the fleeting nature of truth and self. Mattia Pascal, an unremarkable man, is mistreated by those around him, including his fiancée, colleagues, and even his own family who swindle him out of his inheritance. Seeking escape, Pascal travels to Monte Carlo, where he amasses wealth and adopts the identity of a deceased gambler. This new identity brings him unexpected dignity and respect, overwhelming him with its unfamiliar weight.
