The Long Night (1976)

In Harlem, young Steely Brown walks the city streets one night, thinking about his father's disappearance. He meets people from his neighborhood and talks with them, gradually piecing together the story of what happened. Their conversations touch on Vietnam, family problems, the relationship between fathers and sons, drug use, education, and joblessness – essentially, the realities of an American family.
