Description:

This emotionally powerful tragedy chronicles the life and death of Paco (Antonio Banderas), a Spanish peasant who fought against the system of wealthy landowners that kept farmers in poverty. A priest (Antonio Ferrandis) recounts Paco’s story during an anniversary mass attended only by three landowners. The priest remembers Paco's early life: his baptism, communion, marriage, and his work advocating for land reform among the peasants. The priest is left burdened by guilt as he surveys his empty church.
