Description:
In June 2008, Yang Jia attacked a police station with weapons including a knife, hammer, gas mask, pepper spray, gloves, and Molotov cocktails, killing six officers and injuring another officer and a security guard. Arrested at the scene, he was charged with intentional homicide. During the following six months, while detained and awaiting trial, Yang Jia’s mother disappeared without a trace. "One Recluse" is a documentary that explores the causes of this tragedy and examines a trial process marked by suspicious cover-ups and controversial decisions. The film offers a look at the realities of China's judicial system and its effect on people's lives.
