WWE SummerSlam '91, the fourth annual event, was held on August 26, 1991, at Madison Square Garden in New York. The show is notable for the televised wedding of Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, promoted as "A Match Made in Heaven." This was presented in contrast to "A Match Made in Hell," a handicap tag team match featuring WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior against Sgt. Slaughter, General Adnan, and Colonel Mustafa. Other key moments included The Legion of Doom defeating The Nasty Boys to become the first tag team to simultaneously hold the WWE, NWA, and AWA World Tag Team Championships. Additionally, Bret "The Hitman" Hart competed for his first singles title in WWE against Mr. Perfect for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
