Description:
This fictionalized biography draws inspiration from the legendary life of Mexican singer Lucha Reyes. A singer known for her distinctive "cancion ranchera" style, Lucha was an unconventional and sexually liberated woman. The story begins in 1939, when at 33 she was still living with her mother, Dona Victora, who ran a famous Mexico City brothel. Lucha marries Pedro Calderon, a liberal, and then adopts a beggar's daughter, Luzma, becoming her mother. Lucha yearns for enduring love, a desire she pursues intensely, but finds no fulfillment with her daughter, and ultimately remains isolated.
