Description:
This Showtime feature updates Garrison Keillor and Jenny Lind Nilsson's young-adult novel about an unconventional family in Sandy Bottom, Wisconsin. The Greens all have musical dreams, but their daughter Rachel (Madeline Zima), a gifted violinist, seems closest to realizing hers. Her father Norman (Tom Irwin) is a dairy farmer, and her mother Ingrid (Glenne Headly) is a choir director who gave up the piano after marriage. Despite some challenges, the Greens are generally a happy family. An opportunity arises when Norman is asked to conduct the local orchestra for the Dairy Days celebration, offering the family a chance to unite with each other and with their community in a way they never have before.
