Description:
This fictional story follows the 1869 adoption of women's suffrage in Wyoming Territory. In the newly established railroad town of Laraville, the town's powerful boss, Jim Cork, schemes to control the town by manipulating land sales. However, Annie Morgan, a Quaker schoolteacher, manages to acquire one of the most important lots. Cork's lawyer, Steve Lewis, attempts to win the land by pursuing Annie romantically, but is overwhelmed by her strong sense of independence. Though he nearly succeeds in his plan, he soon realizes he has awakened a powerful force for women's rights, with serious consequences.
