Description:
In the Mughal Empire, Selima, a princess raised by a potter and cherished by her brother Shiraz, is abducted and sold into slavery to Prince Khurram, who will later become Emperor Shah Jehan. He falls in love with her, much to the displeasure of the cunning Dalia. When Selima is reunited with Shiraz, he is sentenced to death. A pendant reveals Selima's true identity, allowing her to save him and marry the prince, becoming Empress Mumtaz Mahal while Dalia is punished for her interference. After Selima's death in 1629, the emperor commissions the Taj Mahal, designed by the now elderly and blind Shiraz, as a monument to her memory.
