Description:
SummerSlam 1992, the fifth annual event, was held on August 29, 1992, at Wembley Stadium in London, England, and broadcast in the United States on August 31st. The pay-per-view featured two main events: The Ultimate Warrior challenged Randy Savage for the WWF Championship, winning by count-out but failing to capture the title; and "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith defeated Bret Hart to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship. The WWF Tag Team Championship was also defended, with The Natural Disasters retaining their belts against the Beverly Brothers. A highly anticipated match on the undercard saw Shawn Michaels and Rick Martel compete under a stipulation preventing facial contact, resulting in a double count-out. The event drew an estimated 80,355 spectators, making it the third largest live audience in WWF/E history.
