Description:
In a remote mountain region of southern China, Ruoma (Li Min), a Hani tribe girl, longs to experience life beyond her village. She lives with her grandmother, selling roasted corn for a meager income. While dressed in traditional Hani attire, she meets Aming (Yang Zhigang), a struggling photographer. They befriend each other, and he proposes they earn money by having Ruoma pose for tourists near a renowned World Heritage site. For a small fee per photo, they hope to improve their financial situation. Ruoma excels at her work, charming tourists while dreaming of a trip to the city and modern conveniences. She also develops feelings for Aming.
