Description:
DIDN'T DO IT FOR LOVE is a documentary portrait of Eva Norvind, also known as Mistress Ava Taurel, born in Trondheim, Norway as Eva Johanne Chegodaieva Sakonskaya. The film chronicles Eva's diverse careers, spanning from her days as a showgirl in Paris to her rise as Mexico's Marilyn Monroe in the 1960s and finally, to becoming New York's most renowned dominatrix in the 1980s. Utilizing footage from Norvind's Mexican films, photographs from different eras, and interviews with friends, partners, and family, Treut's documentary explores Eva's lifelong quest to understand the origins of her intense and unconventional sexuality.
