Description:
The film opens with Aguinaldo's capture by Philippine and US forces in 1901, then shifts back to 1886. There, an old woman shares cryptic prophecies with Aguinaldo and his childhood friend, Candido Tirona. A decade later, Aguinaldo joins the Katipunan and rises to leadership of the Cavite chapter while serving as mayor of Cavite El Viejo. When unrest erupts in Manila in late August 1896, Aguinaldo attempts to reassure the Spanish authorities of his neutrality while secretly organizing his forces despite lacking weapons. Discovering the Spanish have concentrated their troops in Manila, Aguinaldo ultimately mobilizes his troops and takes command of the Katipunan forces in Cavite.
