Description:
Finding the Funk is a road trip exploring the history of Funk music. The journey begins with Funk's origins in 1960s Jazz and James Brown's bands, then moves to the Bay Area to celebrate Sly & the Family Stone. Next, the film visits Dayton, Ohio, considered the birthplace of many Funk pioneers, followed by Detroit, where P-Funk emerged from the Motown scene. Finally, the trip culminates in Los Angeles, where contemporary musicians are forging new paths in Funk.
