Description:
ĀTMAN is a visually stunning film created using 480 camera positions arranged in a circle. The filmmaker filmed frame-by-frame, gradually increasing the speed of a circular camera movement. The film focuses on ĀTMAN, an early Buddhist deity often linked to destruction. Its Japanese elements are emphasized through the use of Hangan, a devil mask from Noh theater, and by incorporating both Noh music and the principle of acceleration common in Noh drama.
