Dennis, a Russian gangster and music producer, loses everything when his wife dies. He had secretly financed her music career with money borrowed from the mafia, and now they demand repayment after the funeral. Discovering unsent love letters to a monk named Aleksis, Dennis flees to the countryside to escape the gangsters and make things right. However, Aleksis has taken a vow of silence at his monastery after his wife and daughter left him and is unaware of her remarriage. With the mafia closing in, Dennis must confess everything to Aleksis, forcing everyone to confront difficult choices and make sacrifices for those they care about.
