Description:
This film follows Alan Lomax (1915-2002), a legendary song collector who captured the raw emotion of everyday people through his recordings. A filmmaker retraces Lomax's steps, journeying across Europe in a vintage Volkswagen to find the individuals he recorded. The trip takes them from remote Scottish islands and the stark Spanish countryside to isolated Italian villages, interwoven with stories from Lomax’s colleagues and friends. Throughout the film, glimpses of a vibrant 86-year-old Lomax offer insight into the man himself. This musical road movie explores the beauty of folk music and the driving force behind the legendary Alan Lomax.
