In Alexandra, South Africa's largest and most vibrant township, soccer is more than a game – it's a way of life. Against the backdrop of the first FIFA World Cup in Africa, the film explores the cultural significance of soccer in this community through the stories of five people born and raised in Alex. Seventeen-year-old Nancy 'Maradona' Majola, former national player Isaac 'Shakes' Kungwane, current professional Patrick 'Raiden' Phungwayo, 69-year-old Jacob 'Babes' Bopape, a pioneering professional player, and scholarship winner Ricardo 'Rico' Kutumela offer a glimpse into a culture defined by soccer. They reveal a township still largely unknown and misunderstood, even within South Africa itself.
