Malaterra (2004)

In 1916, on a secluded farm in Haute Provence, the paralyzed Léon Morgon commands a household of women: his daughter Appolonie, his daughter-in-law Baptistine, and his granddaughter Maridoun. Baptistine's husband, Jean, is missing from the Eastern Front. The only remaining son is Félix, Baptistine’s son, who believes his father is still alive. An abandoned village called Malaterra overlooks the Morgon farm. Locals whisper of a curse, claiming to see ghosts dancing there at night. The police are keen to investigate the strange happenings in Malaterra.
