Description:
Iván Berend is a wealthy nobleman who, while capable of engaging in typical aristocratic pursuits like dueling and card games, prefers a life of scientific inquiry. He dedicates himself to natural history, often demonstrating his theories with dramatic experiments, such as burning a diamond. He manages the Bondavar mine, where he's developing a fire-extinguishing agent. The arrival of Evila, a beautiful actress, and her passionate fiancé, Peter Szaffrán, changes things. They've been hired by Viennese banker Félix Kaulmann to assist with his ambitious plan for the coal basin – a plan designed to destroy Ivan Berend's livelihood.
