Description:
In 1950s Hong Kong, Mr. Ho, known as the "King of Gambling," dominates the Mahjong industry. He has three wives, two sons, and a daughter, who outwardly appear to live peacefully but secretly vie for control of the family's wealth. Their hidden rivalry occasionally erupts into martial arts fights during dinner, fueled by their shared Kung Fu skills. The conflict escalates with the return of Mr. Ho's illegitimate son, Ah Fai, whom he cherishes, but his wives and other sons resent. As Mr. Ho ages, he proposes a competition among his sons: each will manage a Mahjong club for a set time, and the one who achieves the best results will inherit his fortune.
