Description:
During World War II, Czechoslovakia was divided into the Slovak State and the German-occupied Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Viktor Lesa, a former pilot working for the Slovak Railway Mail, frequently travels to Ludendorf, the former Czech town of Břeclav, near the border. Hoping to impress a colleague, he misdirects an important package. When the Gestapo arrives, Lesa and a Jewish clerk named Ticháček are forced to flee. They escape on a cargo train to Slovakia and decide to continue their escape into Hungary by crossing the Danube River.
