Description:
It is autumn, 1756. The Kuki clan resides in the mountainous Sanda fief, relocated there by the Tokugawa shogunate due to their powerful navy – feared as a threat to the shogunate's rule after a period of civil wars. Lord Takamura Kuki is committed to defending Sanda as a land-based warrior, while his younger brother Umihito Kuki, embraces the traditions of a sea warrior and yearns to explore distant lands despite the shogunate’s isolationist policies. Umihito is betrothed to Princess Yu, the spirited daughter of the lord of Tanba-Ayabe fief. Though the marriage was arranged for political reasons, they have shared a deep childhood bond built on mutual respect and enduring love.
