Description:
At 13, Salma, a young Muslim girl in a South Indian village, was confined by her family for 25 years. They forbade her from schooling and forced an arranged marriage. During her captivity, writing became Salma's refuge. She secretly composed poems on scraps of paper, devising a way to smuggle them out and eventually reach a publisher. Against all expectations, Salma became a celebrated Tamil poet, marking the beginning of her journey toward freedom and a challenge to her village's traditions.
