Gran Torino: More Than a Car (2009)

A bitter, racist Walt Kowalski, a World War II veteran grieving his wife, reluctantly befriends his Hmong neighbors in a Detroit trailer park. Initially, he bullies them, but gradually develops an unexpected bond with Thao, the daughter of one of the neighbors. As Walt teaches Thao how to hotwire cars and defend herself, he also confronts his own prejudices and finds a renewed sense of purpose. When Thao's cousin gets caught up with a dangerous gang, Walt must decide how far he’s willing to go to protect the girl he’s grown to care for.
