Monster in a Jar (1986)

Two young boys find an ancient book in an abandoned mansion and unknowingly unleash a cursed warrior within its pages when they read it. The bloodthirsty demon begins a night of killing. Kokoy, the main character, realizes the murders are the work of the creature from the book and must quickly stop it to protect his home and family. The story then shifts to an ancient jar, buried with a woman believed to be a witch. She cursed the jar, vowing revenge upon awakening, and slowly frees her spirit from it, trapping anyone who finds it.
