Description:
Ware College, a historically significant Black institution in Ohio, is struggling with dwindling enrollment and finances. During a meeting, Dean Hargreaves learns that Benjamin Ware III, the college's CEO and grandson of the founder, insists the family estate is also nearly bankrupt. The faculty suspect this is untrue, stemming from a romantic rejection by Annabelle Brown. Hoping to raise funds, they organize an alumni reunion and send out invitations. While many alumni are able to contribute, they are surprised to find that Lucius Jordan, a former student who left due to pressure and harbored feelings for Annabelle, is now Louis Jordan, a renowned swing musician and leader of the Tympani Band.
