Dance Of Death – Cabaret in the Concentration Camps (2000)

This film honors the many Jewish artists and performers murdered during the Holocaust. The filmmakers carefully combine pre-war recordings with Nazi-made films and photographs from Westerbork, Theresienstadt, Dachau, and Auschwitz. This briefly brings back the lives and art of prominent European performers like Willy Rosen, Max Ehrlich, Kurt Gerron, Die Ghetto-Swingers, Johnny and Jones, Fritz Grünbaum, and Lisl Frank. *Dance of Death* reveals the sadness of these artists, who survived by performing but were forced to witness the deaths of their fellow performers.
