Description:
Prague, 1860s. Balduin, a charming and skilled fencing student, is vying for the attention of Lydia, the innkeeper's niece, with his friend Dahl. Their celebrations for Lydia's birthday are interrupted by the arrival of Julia Stella, a captivating opera singer. Balduin is instantly drawn to her, but she is already the possession of Baron Waldis, a wealthy and flamboyant admirer. Desperate to win Julia, Balduin seeks help from the enigmatic Dr. Carpis, who also has his own reasons for interfering. However, the cost of his pursuit proves far greater than he anticipates, pushing him to the brink of sanity and risking everything – perhaps even his soul – as he becomes consumed by obsession.
