Magictrickfilm (2002)

Ulla von Brandenburg, a German artist with a background in art and scenography, explores the connection between past and present in her work. In *Ein Zaubertrickfilm*, she presents a video inspired by early cinema experiments. The silent, black and white film features the artist’s friends performing tricks, sight gags, and sleight of hand. Some illusions are enhanced by the possibilities created with the invention of moving images. While not all tricks are flawless, each performer completes their act with dedication, often with a sense of humor.
