Description:
Recent bombings by the Revolutionary Breton Army have brought renewed focus to the history of the Breton independence movement. Roparz Hemon, a key figure in that movement, was born in Brest in 1900 and died in Dublin in 1978 after thirty years of voluntary exile in Ireland following a wartime trial. He had organized the first Breton-language radio broadcasts under German occupation.
