Armor of God (2002)

Scotty Irving, a North Carolina musician, combines intense improvisational noise with his Christian faith in his project, Clang Quartet. He uses homemade instruments to create incredibly loud music inspired by the Bible, challenging audiences to reconsider music and spirituality. The film explores Irving's reasons for pushing boundaries musically and theologically, portraying the "Armor of God" as a symbol of artistic courage. "Armor of God" has been shown at over eighty festivals and venues worldwide, earning nine awards, including a Juror's Citation from the Black Maria Film and Video Festival, and also aired on regional PBS.
