Between 2010 and 2011, Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña crafted the short-film series "The Third World," consisting of "Padre.Madre," "EL Templo," and "El Arca." Presented as a film installation at Upstream Gallery, these films establish the core tenets of a new belief system. They depict a brutal journey, shifting between the sacred and personal, the beautiful and grotesque, the established and the random, the awe-inspiring and the animalistic. Each film initiates a myth and immediately reveals its downfall.
