Piktori (2002)

"Piktori" explores the chaotic aftermath of Albania's dictatorship, where newfound freedom existed alongside widespread disorder. Amidst the proliferation of small shops offering everyday goods, appeared those advertising painting services. These shops became hubs for creating everything from original oil paintings and art copies to political slogans and forged documents – birth certificates to death records. The film examines the artist's place in society, the connection between craft and art, and the modern challenge of defining what it means to be an artist.
