Description:
Marieke is a 20-year-old woman trying to find her place in the world after feeling emotionally abandoned. She seeks connection with older men, finding strength and freedom in these relationships. Marieke lives with her mother, Jeanne, who is emotionally distant following the death of her husband. By day, Marieke works at a chocolate factory in Brussels, but by night she seeks solace elsewhere. The arrival of Jacoby, a book editor searching for her father's final manuscript, disrupts her carefully constructed life. Her mother desperately tries to keep them apart, fearing he will reveal a long-held secret. Marieke falls for Jacoby, but the truth about her father’s death overwhelms her with despair.
