Description:
After a fight, a man convinces his former classmate, who works at a boiler house, to incinerate the body of their shared apartment neighbor he recently murdered. An orphaned girl takes a job in a maternity home's archives, searching for her mother who abandoned her years ago. She finds her, befriends her, and then pushes her into the sea. Meanwhile, an elderly intellectual attempts to explain the meaninglessness of life to the neighbor’s five-year-old daughter. Hurt by the intellectual's words about her mother, the girl poisons him with arsenic.
