Tribal Videos (2001)

For generations, the remote Hapao mountains have protected the Ifugao people and their traditional way of life. Now, the arrival of tourists threatens their ancient rice culture and skilled woodcraft. As more visitors come from the nearby city, old traditions are fading. The elders who remember the stories are disappearing, and younger generations are losing interest. In response to this cultural loss, the tribe begins a unique form of resistance: they document their lives with cameras. *Kidlat de Guia’s Tribal Videos* is a record of their culture and a warning about its future, created through community filmmaking.
