Description:

The film begins with the chaotic liberation of concentration camps, as survivors struggle for basic necessities and grapple with the horrors they've endured. They are then moved to new camps while Allied authorities attempt to manage the unfolding crisis. A young poet, adrift in this new reality, encounters a spirited Jewish girl who urges him to escape to the West with her. He finds himself overwhelmed by her increasing affection, while simultaneously battling lingering hatred for the Germans and disappointment in the selfishness of his fellow survivors.
