Description:
Petra Kelly, a prominent 1980s environmental and peace activist, is shot in her sleep by Gert Bastian, her lover and political partner, a former West German army general. He then takes his own life. The film explores whether this was a murder or if Petra subconsciously desired the shot. Following the bullet's path through her skull to her brain and eventual death, Petra experiences a vision of the present day, awakening in the sterile transit area of an international airport. As she navigates this liminal space, she grapples with the meaning of the shooting alongside Gert and figures from her past. In her final moments, Petra confronts the intensity of her deepest desires.
