In the 1980s, the residents of Hessdalen, a valley in Norway, were troubled by numerous unexplained lights appearing throughout the area. Hundreds of these lights were observed, with activity peaking at around twenty reports per week. In 1994, Assistant Professor Erling Strand organized the first international congress on the Hessdalen phenomena, drawing scientists globally and stimulating further research. While the lights are still seen, their frequency has decreased to approximately twenty observations annually. This synopsis summarizes the findings from over 25 years of research, including recent investigations by Italian SETI scientists using advanced equipment.
