However, his films, particularly "Betrayal" and "Fear," generated considerable attention in the 1960s. Selected for major film festivals like Cannes and Berlin, they were commercially successful in Greece and internationally, earning Manoussakis widespread critical acclaim as a gifted filmmaker with talent exceeding the scope of Greek cinema.
