Maomao’s world is built from found objects: salvaged tiles from demolished buildings, forgotten toys, Chinese lucky cats alongside popular foreign icons like Garfield, countless Coke cans, and Erguotou liquor bottles – all representing the tastes of a significant segment of Chinese society. "Maomao's Summer" documents the evolving landscape of Beijing, the city’s growth, and the subtle shifts in people's attitudes as the times change around them.
