Challenge to Ambition: Chapter 1 (2009)

In Osaka's Minami district, the powerful Fifth-Generation Tōdō-gumi is led by Wakagashira Ōtani (Ryu Daisuke). Yuji Mikasa (Musashi Ken) follows the traditional yakuza code under Ōtani, dedicating himself to sword training and old values. His life changes when he kills someone to protect his younger student, leading to escalating consequences. As the yakuza become increasingly involved in politics, the organization's boss, Myojin, decides to retire. Cunning Serizawa (Kawano Taro) sees this as a chance to overthrow Ōtani. Meanwhile, Mikasa’s actions put his respected boss in a difficult position.
