Description:

The Troubadour is composing a new ballad at his summerhouse in the Stockholm archipelago when his son Sven Bertil interrupts, saying a disgruntled creditor, Andersson, is at the door with another bill. The Troubadour is weary of financial troubles, which disrupt his need for peace and inspiration to write. Without new songs, he can't earn the money to cover his debts. To find both peace and inspiration, he impulsively decides to go to Buenos Aires. He calls his publisher and arranges to receive a 7000 kronor advance for a future book. On the ferry back to Stockholm, the Troubadour is lost in the imaginative world of his character, Fritiof Andersson, with vivid scenes from his songs unfolding in his mind. In Stockholm, he stays at the inn Gyldene Freden.
