Outrider (2025)

Outrider offers a glimpse into the life of Anne Waldman, a dynamic poet who has spent six decades building communities of poets, performers, and activists. The film follows her journey from Greenwich Village and the St. Mark's Poetry Project to Naropa University's 'Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics,' and then to locations like Mexico City and Casablanca. Inspired by the Beat generation and collaborations with influential female artists – Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Cecilia Vicuña, Meredith Monk – Outrider highlights Waldman's visionary approach to poetry and her powerful, almost ancient, presence as a force for change.
